The assembly line for any reliable lead acid bike battery is indispensable when it comes to standardization. The reason for this is that it guarantees consistency while minimizing the need for labor. During this day and age, there are several sophisticated machines available for the production of batteries for motorbikes in a more efficient way. Such machines would typically do things like prepare the plates, assemble the plates, weld the plates, fill the battery up with electrolyte, test the battery and package it for shipping. The process may also guarantee safety and quality with one well-designed process.
Plate Preparation
Plate Preparation is the first step in the battery production line and it involves the lead plates that carry out an important function in other battery operations. It involves managing the thickness of the plate and the active material. The drying of the plates follows having met the requirement for quality assurance. Quality assurance is important to ensure that defective plates are eliminated before assembly takes place. Other automated devices could help speed up production for large manufacturing plants as well.Assembling the grid, plates, and separators.
After the proper assembly of the positive and negative plates using separators, which provides a barrier between plates, will help in assembly battery production process as different types of batteries have different methods for assembly as per assembly equipment, required for battery manufacturing.
The welding of the terminals and groupings.
The welding process becomes vital again as the plates of a particular battery have to be joined perfectly to avoid any connectivity issues later.
Thus, implementing a battery welding machine assembly line will make sure that every welding process remains the same throughout without any discrepancies occurring on behalf of its operators.
Although for some plants it may be economical and beneficial for them to implement either a semi-automated or fully-automated assembly line depending on the current output and cost.
Sealing of the battery container.
After the completion of the internal assembly process, then after the sealing of the battery casing has to be done correctly, which will ensure zero leakage of the electrolyte.
While it may still be possible to monitor the pressure and temperature on sealers using modern tools or through visual inspection, the installation of leak testing machine will become necessary here, as it shall help in determining all leaks prior to reaching the next stage of assembly battery production.
Filling of the electrolyte.
The filling of electrolytes in battery is critical as well and must comply with required volume capacity set for its type of battery.
While not filling enough electrolyte may lead to inefficient performance of batteries; overfilling could cause leaks. Thus, it is important for all filling clamps/hose systems used prior to actually filling in electrolytes.
In an assembly plant producing high volume batteries, the use of automated filling equipment shall be required as it offers maximum control and eliminates errors associated with operator involvement in this aspect.
Charging of the battery and forming.
Charging of the battery during manufacture process shall also be critical and is performed in controlled environment.
This would require continuous monitoring of voltage and current until full charging has been achieved and stabilized.
Charging ensures activation of battery components.
Battery testing.
After formation process, testing would need to be performed on batteries, including voltage test, capacity test, internal resistance test and leak test, among others.
This gives knowledge of battery quality produced.
Final inspection and packing.
All qualified batteries will require final inspection that includes case, terminals, branding checks, etc.
Post inspection all qualified batteries will be packed for despatch.
Choosing appropriate assembly lines.
All manufacturing plants would require an appropriate assembly line solutions as the needs of every manufacturing plants differ; hence, solutions employed in one scenario may not be suitable for another regardless of battery type.
Thus, if a small plant opts for semi-automated assembly process, its organization would benefit from flexibility offered alongside lower installation costs compared to other processes.
On the other hand, large manufacturers may find it useful opting for totally automated assembly line solution where every stage of battery manufacture is conducted via an integrated assembly system encompassing welding, testing and other processes.
