How to Maintain a Battery Sorting Machine?

Battery sorting machines are needed for the running of battery production lines of lithium battery as 18650, 21700 and prismatic cells. Care and maintenance of this equipment is therefore high on the list of priorities, to keep the machine running, downtime to a minimum, and to extend its life. Here are some suggestions for keeping a battery sorting machine in top condition.
Regular Cleaning
Regular cleaning is one of the simplest, but effective battery sorting machine maintenance tips. Dust, muck and detritus can foul the sorting mechanism and the electronic sensors that control it, either can ruin the batch, at worst. All surfaces should be kept free from fouling, belts, bins and sensors etc; reasonable care should be taken, soft non-abbrasive cleaning materials and detergents are needed, particularly for sensistive electronic parts. A compressed air blower is good for thoroughly cleaning the machine, and may save trouble in future. A soft touch cloth can be used for wiping surfaces and the like. Tip: Always ensure the machine is powered off when executing the above cleaning regime.
Inspecting and lubricating
Since many battery sorting machines are driven from a electric motor, they have moving parts like the above conveyors, the motors themselves, and moving parts in the sorting mechanism itselfThese parts will all wear out,, and cause tight or jamming action, and loss in efficiency.Regular Inspection, and indeed, lubricating, of the sorting machine is necessary for it to work properly.Such lubricants as are suitable to the other moving parts should be kept in regular supply as per maker’s directions. Much depends upon the battery cell, the quality of it, that the machine is sorting.Bad cells may also be the cause of jamming or wrong sorting. Every so often go through the cells being fed to the machine and approve or disqualify any bad or damaged ones before they got to the sorters.
Tip: Quality control protocol at the point of input of the cells will catch the bad ones ahead of time.
Inspect Electrical Connections
Another of the responsibilities of battery sorting machines is to themselves have electrical systems of wiring, sensors, motors, etc. Inspect these regularly for correct function, being sure they aren’t dried out or overheated and that all op-circuit connections are tight. Loose and corroded electrical connections can lead to erratic operation or total failure of the battery sorting machine. Look At the Power Supply
Loose, or even damaged; that is, not plugged into the electrical supply, can make your machine exhibit all sorts of strange dispositions. Power fluctuations can scorch the electrical part of your battery sorting machine, too. Always be sure and check the leads from the supply to see that they aren’t wore, and to see that they make good contact. Tip: If you have some add-on surge protectors or uninterruptable power supplies, inspect these from time to time for good operating condition, too. Other Do’s: Keep your eye on both conveyor belts; is it parting the cells in the right way, and picking up those little whirligigs right? By testing the machine you’re apt to catch a minor problem before it matures into something serious along the breakdown line. Tip: Keep a record of those test finds to average the condition, if you desire, of your device.
Do not let a jam sit too long. One thing that can happen with a jam is that a foreign object is wedged among the cells, or even cells out-of-line; and this packs the sorter or sorts them to a pulp in the worst case. Make sure a jam does not fester, but is cleared up quick, or the machine is apt to warp or bend a part. Also; even without a jam check, look in among the conveyor belts and see that there isn’t a foreign object blocking the clear, unobstructed path of the sorter.
Tip: And be sure and follow the recommended clearaway procedure as advised by the manufacturer; don’t want to worse damage a component.
Follow the Sequence
There will be a maintenance schedule done with your battery sorting machine; one that you will observe in keeping the different parts clean, lubrication, and t.com. Maybe, a signal that tells you check sure, check the calibration for alignment and so forth. Your best bet is to follow through and see to it that your machine receives its regular doses of attention; otherwise it can turn out to be a big repair job, and you lose both time and money.
Tip: With all the attention it receives, it would be well to mark or tag the machine when it is due for periodic attention and let it come to you for its befores after this and other regular attention.
In short, don’t let it get out of order, or you’ll be wasting money in parts as well as precious time. And those suggested should keep it sandbagging you, if not actually sinking you as well! Keep it regular with regard to foreign material on its surfaces, lubricated, and its electrical connections well-calibrated. It will serve as a part of the mechanized back-up force for the tasks ahead, and not “drop out” on you.
